Capsicum Habit Tracking
Intro
One of the most popular uses for Capsicum is habit tracking. In version 1.1.1, we’re focusing on making habit tracking even better.
Adding New Habits
All habits aren’t created equal. Namely, there are new ones you want to create and old ones you want to break. We’re making it easier to keep track of both. Now when adding a habit, you can select if it’s positive or negative. You can also set an exisiting habit as positive or negative, in the habit’s settings. The new Trends section also shows streaks as well as breaks.
Hey Siri, Log My Habits for Me
We want to make it as easy as possible to log your habits. One of the easiest ways to log a habit is by letting Siri do it for you. After adding your habit, explore the details and tap the ‘Add to Siri’ button. This lets you set up a voice trigger that will automatically log your habit on command from your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or HomePod. It’s pretty cool. These shortcuts can also be used with the Apple Shortcuts app to be a part of even more advanced automation sequences.
Trends, History, Notes
As you start logging habits, it’s helpful to see how you’re progressing. When viewing the details of a habit, we show your progress in three areas.
Trends
The first area contains summary for progress that we call trends. Trends let you see how many times you’ve logged a particular habit as well as your current streak, longest break, average streak and more.
History
The History area shows you a visual representation of your progress over time. It includes a contribution graph as well as a chronological list of every time a habit was logged. These Occurrences can be edited to include notes which can really be helpful as you try to build or break habits.
Notes
The Notes area is a handy view that simply displays the notes that have been logged for a particular habit over time.
Sharing your progress
One of the best ways to stay on track is to share your progress. While viewing the Trends, you can tap the Share button to share your progress with friends or family via Instagram Stories, Twitter, iMessage or the social platform of your choice.
